Elizabeth "Betty" Varney was immensely and rightfully proud of her job with the Prince George's County Police Department. She loved nothing more than being out in all kinds of weather doing what she loved - helping people and being a friendly and constant presence at her post. We are grateful to the PGPD for the thoughtful expressions of condolence and support we have received over the past few weeks.

I never met Mrs. Varney but worked with one of her daughters. Her daughter always spoke glowingly about her mother. Mrs. Varney’s years of service and dedication speak volumes about her character and love for her community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Varney’s family.
